The Porterhouse Temple bar first opened in 1996 and was Dublin's first pub slash brewery. Since then the Porterhouse brand has established itself in multiple locations, including bars in Wicklow, London and New York. There are two Porterhouse pubs in Dublin's city centre, so be careful not to get confused by this location and the Porterhouse Central, which is at the bottom of Grafton Street, beside Trinity College. There is also a North Dublin porterhouse location in Glasnevin.

With regards to the Porterhouse in Temple bar, it's no wonder this pub has been so successful. It offers the largest selection in Ireland of Classic Imported Beers from all around the world, as well as wide selection of Porterhouse brand micro-brewery beers. The Temple Bar venue is three floors of comfortable seating, with quality food served daily, and a semi-enclosed smoking area with a heat lamp to keep you warm on those cold smoky nights.
It's also a great location for live bands, both from traditional Irish acts and Rock, Blues and World Music acts.
